Submissions Guidelines

Please be sure to include all of the following items in your submission. For ease and quality way of life for everyone, it should (preferably) be formatted as a Microsoft Word document.

  • The primary and essential: a title and a subtitle (if applicable).
  • Genre(s).
  • Word Count.
  • What type your work is. (e.g. Novel, Novella, etc.)
  • A hook. Not a jab. Tell us in 500 characters or less what your proposal is about.
  • Test your might, by doing a one-paragraph overview. This will explain the premise of your book, why you wrote it, and who you see your audience as (along with any relevant demographic data you might have about the potential size of the audience. In which case, damn you’re good).
  • An author biography of about one to two pages. Tell us who you are, and what does your father do. Don’t actually.
  • Your bread and butter aka a table of contents (ToC). It should outline the book and have chapter and section titles.
  • Include a brief synopsis of your tale. Regail us with your Cliffnotes version of your proposal (around 3-4 pages. Any longer and we will have to perform a sacrifice).
  • Probably one of the roughest part of a proposal: a market analysis. This should regard the potential audience for your book. Be sure to include a comparison to similar books. When comparing your proposal to other works, please briefly explain how your book differs from these titles. [Please limit yourself to 3–4 books. Any more than that and we’re going to go bald.]
  • The easy A. Your A game. The A-Team. This is where you Include 30 pages to showcase the style and content of your prestigious work. Make it count!
  • If you’re doing a hard copy submission, the first 30 pages will be what makes or breaks things. Digital submissions can be any 30 pages of your proposal.
  • Give yourself a pat on the back. You just did a submission!

The Waiting Game

Patience is a virtue. It’s rough, but with the enormous volume of submissions, consideration may take several months. While persistence is often appreciated in some fields, please, do not follow up with us if it has been fewer than four months—these inquiries slow down our review time, and it makes us contemplate the meaning of our lives more.

Thank you very much in advance for giving us the opportunity to consider your project, and we wish you all the best in your writing endeavors.
